Larry was born in Southampton, New York in the early nineteen sixties. He has spent most of his life on or near the ocean and bays of Eastern Long Island. He developed a passion for building fishing lures after many years of surfing and fishing the local waters of the east end.
After making a variety of wooden fishing lures for tackle shops, as well as The Orvis Company, Larry decided that a better approach would be to make a small amount of a very specific type of lure. Drawn to the work of original plug maker, Danny Pichney, it was the metal lip plugs that he enjoyed making the most.
With hours spent trolling the rips of the North and South Forks of Long Island with the likes of Sag Harbor legend, Al Daniels, he refined his "slope head" designs to what are now proven fish catchers; especially large striped bass.
